The long wait for the Oscars 2022 ceremony certainly comes to an end. At the awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, even before the event started, Denis Villeneuve’s epic science-fiction thriller “Dune” had won four Oscars. The categories were editing, original score, sound, production design. Jessica Chastain and Will Smith won the titles for Best actress and actor, respectively.
However, history was made after Troy Kotsur became the first deaf actor to win Oscars. “I really want to thank all of the wonderful deaf theatre stages; where I was allowed and allowed to develop my craft as an actor,” he said in an emotive speech. “This is dedicated to the deaf community, the Coda community, and the disabled community. This is our moment.”
Moreover, since 1932’s Grand Hotel, CODA is the first best picture winner with fewer than four nominations. Although there have been other writers and directors since Emma Thompson in 1995, Sian Heder is the first woman to win the prize for the best-adapted script by herself. Here’s a complete list of winners for Oscars 2022.
