Zelensky claims troops were successful in reclaiming territory

After Russia pulled back from Ukraine’s Kharkiv region pm Saturday, Kyiv started advancing to get rid of the Russian troops. President Volodymyr Zelensky is now claiming that the Ukrainian forces were successful in reaching the Russian border and capturing territory.

“Since the start of September, our soldiers have already liberated 6,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in the east and south, and we are moving further,” stated Zelensky.

Several reports are claiming Ukrainian forces are banging on Russia’s borders. Some claim they were successful in liberating a village in the area.

“In some areas of the front, our defenders reached the state border with the Russian Federation,” stated Oleh Syniehubov. Syniehubov is the regional governor of Ukraine’s north-eastern Kharkiv region. However, he did not specify exact numbers but stated that Russian Prisoners of War (POW) were arrested. They will be exchanged for Ukrainian service members previously captured by Russia.

More on Ukraine’s success

President Zelensy elated at the Ukrainian army’s advances is calling upon the west for support. He is also taking shots at the Russian military for pulling back their troops. “These days, the Russian army is showing its best showing its back. And, in the end, it is a good choice for them to run away. There is and will be no place for the occupiers in Ukraine,” stated the President in a Facebook video. (fleshbot.com)

Since bursting through the frontlines, Ukrainian forces were successful in recapturing several towns and villages. “The Russians were here in the morning. Then at noon, they suddenly started shouting wildly and began to run away, charging off in tanks and armored vehicles,” stated a resident. The move marks Russia’s biggest battlefield defeat since its forces were forced to abandon the assault on Kyiv.
