Microsoft Corp. said Zain Nadella, son of Chief Executive Officer Satya and his wife Anu, died Monday morning. He was 26 years old and had been born with cerebral palsy. In an email, Microsoft Corp, the software company informed its executive staff that Zain had died. Executives were requested to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers while providing them space to grieve privately. Nadella has focused the company on building products to better serve users with disabilities since taking over as CEO in 2014; citing lessons he learned while raising and supporting Zain.
In a blog post from October 2017, Nadella discussed the birth of his son. Last year, the Seattle Children’s Hospital partnered with the Nadellas to create the Zain Nadella Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences, which is part of the Seattle Children’s Center for Integrative Brain Research.
What is Cerebral palsy?
Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. CP is the most common motor disability in childhood. Abnormal brain development is the root cause of the problem.
Cerebral Palsy: Treatment
Although there is no cure for CP, medication can help those who suffer from it live better lives. It’s critical to begin a treatment program as soon as feasible. A team of health specialists works with the kid and family; to build a plan to assist the child to attain his or her full potential when a CP diagnosis is made. Medicines, surgery, braces, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy are all common therapies.
Cerebral Palsy is a common disorder. However, with the help of the correct professional help at the right time, one can help parents as well as the child to lead a better life.
“Zain will be remembered for his eclectic taste in music, his bright sunny smile, and the immense joy he brought to his family and all those who loved him,” Jeff Sperring, CEO of Children’s Hospital, wrote in a message to his Board.
