Trump compared US schools to indoctrination camps
Former US President Doland Trump called the American education system “insane”. As a part of his “America First” campaign, while campaigning for the elections, he vowed to bring back “common sense” schooling. While speaking to voters in Davenport, he answered an audience question on schools becoming “indoctrination camps focused on sexualizing our children”. “We have to get back to common sense, and that is reading, writing, and arithmetic. What they’re teaching in schools today is insane. School choice is where it’s at,” stated Trump speaking to voters in Iowa. School choice is the idea of providing parents the right to elect a principal and offering the state control over the curriculum instead of the federal government.

Reiterating the Republican allegations regarding appropriation of “wokeness” into teaching, the former president stated, “what they’re teaching in schools today is insane”. Moreover, in January, Trump called for federal funding cuts on certain school programs. They are programs dealing with “critical race theory, gender ideology, or other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content”.
“As president, I’ll fight to expand that right to every single state in America,” he added. He was repeatedly stressing his previous pledge of keeping “men out of women’s sports”. This is referring to a highly debated topic of transgender women and girls participating in women’s sports. Additionally, Trump added that if he wins the 2024 Presidential elections he will continue to “fight to expand that right to every single state in America”.
