On Monday, the US State Department issued a worldwide advisory for Americans, citing security concerns. This comes just days after more than 130 people were killed in Moscow’s concert hall bombing. ISIS claimed responsibility for the tragedy in the Russian capital.
“Due to increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution,” the State Department said in a notice.
It said that Americans should:
A) Stay vigilant in tourist-friendly areas
B) Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts and make it easier to identify you in an emergency overseas
C) Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter.
