The United Nations is all set to have its annual general meeting at the end of this week. The heads of state of all the countries are reaching New York for the high-profile event. The unvaccinated Brazil President,Jair Bolsonaro was not allowed to dine indoors as per the rules. He was seen eating pizza on the sidewalks.
The rules do not allow people to enter New York’s restaurants without proof of vaccination. There were no exceptions made even for Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro. On his first night in New York, he had to eat dinner on the sidewalks. Jair is a vaccine skeptic and bragged about not taking the vaccination. He said his immunity was strong enough to fight the virus.
Sunday night he was captured grabbing munchies on a New York sidewalk. His supporters were all praises for his simplicity in eating around on sidewalks. City of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio advised foreign leaders, “including Brazil’s Bolsonaro,” to be vaccinated before attending a UN rally in New York before coming.
“If you don’t want to be vaccinated, don’t bother coming,” de Blasio said
“If you don’t want to be vaccinated, don’t bother coming,” de Blasio said at a news conference. President Abdulla Shahid of the United Nations General Assembly informed the 193 member states last week. The COVID-19 vaccine honour system for presidents, PMs, and diplomats is still maintained. Proof of immunisation isn’t necessary.
Coronavirus is still around. Nobody wants to take the risk for another outbreak or COVID-19 peak. Therefore, only those leaders who are comfortable traveling will be present for the assembly. The rest of them will be sending video statements.
