Prince Harry and Meghan Markle not invited to Trooping the Colour for the second year in a row

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not received an invitation to Trooping the Colour for the second consecutive year. The military parade is scheduled to take place in London later this month.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not attend the military procession this year, as they did not in 2023 following King Charles III’s coronation. Trooping the Colour is an annual parade celebrating the reigning monarch’s official birthday and has been a tradition in Britain for 260 years.

Harry and Meghan were last present at the parade in 2022, when they returned to London for Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebration.

The queen passed away three months later, and although Prince Harry attended his father’s coronation in May of last year (without the duchess), he and his wife did not attend the Trooping the Colour parade that took place a month after the coronation.

Charles participated in his first Trooping the Colour as monarch in 2023 on horseback alongside Prince William, while Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton greeted the crowds from a carriage.

Kate Middleton to skip Trooping the Colour parade?

The Princess of Wales, who serves as the colonel-in-chief of the Irish Guards, is undergoing treatment for cancer and will not be taking the traditional salute at the Colonel’s review.

Kinsey Schofield, host of the ‘To Di For Daily’ podcast, told Fox News Digital last week that the mother of three is likely to miss the parade. Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, plans to ride in a horse-drawn carriage this year instead of on horseback.

Cold war between Harry and the royal family continues

In May, Harry visited London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014. However, he did not meet with Charles during his visit.

While no members of the royal family attended a thanksgiving service for the games at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s younger brother, was present.

Harry last saw his father in February after the king announced his cancer diagnosis.

Harry’s relationship with the royal family has become increasingly strained since he and Markle stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and relocated their family to California.
