Three American tourists die mysteriously at Bahamas resort

Three US tourists died at a resort in the Bahamas after falling ill. However, the fourth is at a hospital for treatment. The Police is investigating the mysterious death of 3 American tourists. The resort, Sandals, stated that the visitors were staying at their Emerald Bay resort in Exuma.

The authorities are not suspecting anything fishy, however, the reason for the death is still not clear. The resort staff had made the police aware of finding one of the guests unresponsive in a villa. Later on, the other two guests in the next villa were also in a similar state. “Both individuals showed signs of convulsion,” police said. No signs of trauma were on either body.

The Bahamas Health Minister informed guests visiting the clinic with nausea and vomiting. A fourth victim was at a New Providence hospital.

“We feel that what we are seeing is an isolated case associated in a particular area,” the health minister said. He further added that investigators were doing toxicology and blood tests to help determine the cause of the illness. The country’s acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper gave in a statement. He said, “I have been regretfully informed today of the death of three American visitors; two men, and a woman, at a resort property on Exuma.”

In a statement to People Magazine, a spokesman for Sandals confirmed the fatalities. “A health emergency was initially reported and following our protocols we immediately alerted emergency medical professionals and relevant local authorities,” the company said in a statement.

“Out of respect for the privacy of our guests, we cannot disclose further information at this time.” The Bahamas is working to control a surge in migrants seeking to reach the United States on decrepit and overloaded boats.
