Meme crypto coins have a tough competition
The past year has seen a huge rise in meme cryptocurrencies. Although Shiba Inu and DogeCoin taking over the markets, they now have competition from a crypto coin that can make digital assets from poop. The concept began with Cho Jae-weon, an environmental engineering professor at South Korea’s Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology. Jae-weon built a prototype of an eco-friendly toilet which rewarded students with ten ‘Ggool’ for using it. The students can use the crypto coin at the South Korean University’s cafes
What’s so special about the BeeVi toilet?
Unlike regular toilets, the BeeVi toilet does not waste gallons of water. Instead, it uses a vacuum pump. The pump sucks the waste and rends it to a bioreactor located underground. In the bioreactor, microorganisms break down the waste and produce methane, which acts as a heating fuel and energy source.
“If we think outside the box, feces have precious value to make energy and manure. I have put this value into ecological circulation,” said the Professor. Additionally, he stressed that an average person’s biowaste can produce 50 liters of methane gas. In turn, it can make 0.5kWh electricity. He said that this energy was enough to run a load of dishes in energy-saving mode.
