El Mago, a Sinaloa Cartel member, was reportedly killed in a shooting in Willowbrook, Los Angeles, according to Borderland Beat. The assault allegedly occurred on November 23rd in the morning. When police arrived, two men had been shot dead, and a third had been taken to the hospital with injuries.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the shooting occurred around 8:20 a.m. in the 14200 block of Towne Avenue, near Rosecrans Avenue. Sheriff Lt. Omar Camacho stated that no motive for the killing was discovered. However, it appeared to have occurred following a party or gathering that lasted into the early hours of today.
The victims, according to law enforcement, were between the ages of 20 and 30. At the time of writing, no arrests had been made. There was no public description of the shooter released.

Camacho also disclosed: “It’s too early in the investigation to figure out if we have a possible suspect detained or witnesses that we still need to contact.”

El Mago’s real name is either Eddie Escobedo or Eddie Hernandez, according to Borderland Beat. According to arrest reports in the United States, he was identified as Eddie Escobedo. He was reportedly from Durango, Mexico, but lived in California in his later years and at the time of his death.
He was said to be friends with Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, the son of drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. Mago was also the leader of the Los Chapitos in Los Angeles, according to the r/NarcoFootage subreddit.
El Mago and his brother “Jimmy” were indicted for weed possession, according to Reddit user u/ConsequenceDecent968. According to Borderland Beat, the former was arrested in July 2011 while transporting 2,648 pounds of marijuana in Torrance, Los Angeles.
