Private Equity CEO Arrested for Allegedly Strangling Teen at In-N-Out Restaurant
Incident details
Lucas Kalisher, the 55-year-old CEO of Summit Source Funding LLC, was arrested for allegedly strangling a 15-year-old boy at an In-N-Out restaurant in Loveland, Colorado, after the teenager accidentally splashed water on his wife. The incident occurred on August 4, and the Loveland Police Department (LPD) took Kalisher into custody following the attack, which witnesses described as shocking.
The altercation
According to the LPD, the incident began when the boy, while fooling around with friends, unintentionally spilled water on Kalisher’s wife. The teenager approached the couple’s table to apologize, but Kalisher allegedly reacted violently. He reportedly grabbed the boy, placed his hands around the front and back of the teenager’s neck, and then threw him onto the floor.
Witnesses at the scene were stunned by the aggression. In a video posted on X, one bystander can be heard expressing concern, noting that Kalisher, a much older and larger man, was “picking on a kid.”
Aftermath and arrest
Kalisher and his wife left the restaurant before the police arrived, but witnesses were able to identify him, leading to the issuance of a no-bond arrest warrant. Kalisher turned himself in to the police on August 13. He has since been charged with felony second-degree strangulation and a misdemeanor count of child abuse. Kalisher was arraigned on Wednesday.
Community involvement and police response
Following the incident, Kalisher removed his Facebook and LinkedIn profiles. The Loveland Police Department expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance in identifying Kalisher. “The Loveland Police Department is very appreciative of the assistance we received from the community during this investigation. This is a perfect illustration of our new Vision Statement: ONE Community, ONE Police Department, ONE Team,” stated Chief Tim Doran, according to the LPD’s release.
