A chaotic scene unfolded at the Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx on Saturday evening when police reported that approximately 400 people, mostly teenagers, gathered in large numbers, causing widespread disruption throughout the shopping center. Viral videos on TikTok captured teens running across all three floors, shouting, swinging chairs, and being pursued by officers.

Videos circulating on social media showed chairs flying across the food court while what appeared to be hundreds of juveniles ran through the mall, creating a hazardous situation for shoppers.
Mall officials address the situation
Officials from the Bronx mall told News 12, “From our understanding, a group of young people came to the mall based on a false rumor of a social media influencer being at the property.” They noted that the situation was ultimately resolved with the assistance of the NYPD and mall security.
Growing concerns over youth-related incidents
Police confirmed that no injuries were reported. However, some shoppers expressed concerns that this latest disturbance is part of a recurring pattern of youth-related incidents. News 12 highlighted that a similar massive brawl at the same mall during the 2024 holiday season also made headlines and gained significant attention online.
