In a breathtaking display of innovation and holiday cheer, U.S.-based drone company Sky Elements captured the imagination of millions by orchestrating one of the largest drone shows ever recorded. The event, held over a field in Mansfield, Texas, featured 5,000 synchronized drones illuminating the night sky with intricate holiday-themed formations, including a waving Santa Claus aboard his sleigh led by reindeer.

This remarkable feat broke Sky Elements’ previous record of flying 2,500 drones in the northern hemisphere just a week prior, earning the company its 11th Guinness World Record. The visual spectacle was brought to life in collaboration with UVify, a leader in drone technology.

A viral sensation

The video of the mesmerizing display quickly went viral, amassing over 98 million views and 5.5 million likes on Instagram. Social media users were awestruck, with one commenting, “Imagine looking out your window and seeing this,” while another noted, “This is genuinely badass. Too cool to be true.”

Preston Ward, Sky Elements’ chief pilot, celebrated the achievement, saying, “Not only did we spread the holiday spirit, but we also scored our 11th Guinness World Record while we were at it!” Robert Cheek, COO of UVify, echoed the sentiment, calling the event “a testament to the incredible innovation and dedication of the entire team.”

A history of festive displays

Sky Elements is no stranger to pushing creative boundaries with drone technology. During Thanksgiving, the company wowed audiences with a lifelike turkey projected into the night sky, garnering widespread acclaim on social media.
