Their unlikely romance began with a simple “Hi.” That casual greeting soon transformed into deep, meaningful conversations that spanned 14 months. Despite the cultural and geographical distances, the couple formed a powerful bond rooted in shared values and faith.

“14 months together and ready for a BIG new chapter,” Ms. Forero wrote in a recent Instagram post, marking a milestone in their relationship.

From Instagram messages to real-life commitment

Ms. Forero shared their journey in a 45-second video montage on social media, offering a glimpse into how a brief online interaction evolved into a lasting relationship.

“I messaged Chandan first. From his profile, I saw that he was a passionate Christian man who knew theology,” she wrote, explaining what initially drew her in.

Their mutual love for art, music, photography, and faith served as the foundation of their connection. “After 8 months of dating online and getting my mother’s overwhelming approval, she and I flew to India for the trip of a lifetime,” Ms. Forero added.

A relationship that defied expectations

While the couple’s story has resonated with thousands online, Ms. Forero acknowledged the varied reactions they’ve received.

“People have been everything from judgmental, to supportive, to rude, to very positive, awkwardly silent, and everything in between. And let’s not forget the age difference,” she said. At 39, she is nine years older than Chandan.

But for her, faith has been the cornerstone of their journey. “The odds were stacked against us, but God has been miraculously opening doors and providing for us each step of the way. Because he [Jesus] brought us together, and he’ll see us through,” she concluded in the video.

Social media showers support

Their story quickly garnered support and admiration from social media users across the globe.

“9 years is nothing. My husband and I are 10.7 age difference… So happy for you both!” one commenter wrote.

“You both look fabulous together,” another user said, while some even shared their own similar cross-border love stories.

“Seven months later, I was flying to India to marry him! That was 3 1/2 years ago… It’s a crazy journey but so worth it,” one follower wrote.

Another recalled, “Me and my husband are also an international couple… It’s been 9 years already. I hope the best for you both in your romantic love story.”

Looking ahead: Life in the United States

Ms. Forero and Chandan now co-manage a YouTube channel where they document their experiences. The channel bio captures the heart of their journey: “A divorced Christian mother struggling to find love centered on faith meets a younger man on Instagram living in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh.”

The couple is in the process of applying for Chandan’s visa, hoping to begin their married life in the United States.

With a shared vision for a future full of love, faith, and adventure, Ms. Forero says they are ready to embrace whatever comes next.
