Trumps crumbling? Ivanka separates herself from Donald Trump in order to avoid legal issues

According to reports in the American mainstream media, a major infighting has broken out inside the strong Trump family. Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former US President Donald Trump, is apparently separating herself from her politician father in order to focus on her business career and avoid legal problems linked with the Trump family.

In one incident of family feuding, the US media reported that Ivanka was not present at the occasion where Trump declared his reelection run for the presidential elections in 2024.

Ivanka Trump has made steps to remove herself from the $250 million fraud case initiated by New York State Attorney General Letitia James in the ongoing legal battle involving the Trump Organization’s alleged fraudulent actions.

Ivanka Trump, who is currently named as a defendant alongside her brothers, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., as well as other officials at the firm, recently moved to remove the lawyers defending her siblings and hired her own legal team.

The Trump Organization is accused of falsifying property valuations on official records in order to receive financial benefits, according to the charge filed by Attorney General James. While Ivanka Trump is named in the complaint, she claims she was not personally involved in the alleged violation.

On March 6, Ivanka Trump’s new legal team requested a trial delay in a letter to the court overseeing the case, emphasizing that the complaint makes no claims of her role in drafting, preparing, evaluating, or certifying her father’s financial statements.

Analysts believe that efforts to distance themselves have come too late

But, according to legal expert and attorney Andrew Lieb, Ivanka Trump’s efforts to distance herself from her family may have come too late. Although her decision appears to be lawful, Lieb points out that it presents the prospect of conflict of interest difficulties inside the family.

The decision to hire separate legal counsel signals that there may be ongoing feuding among the Trump family members engaged in the case.

Lieb commented, “It’s a little late in the game for her to be rebranding, although it makes a lot of sense from a legal perspective. Having all of these people—when it comes to Trump, Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka—with the same lawyer, there could end up being a conflict of interest issues. I think there’s probably something going on here where there’s infighting because I find that families all love each other until they’re all liable for $250 million.”
