Terry Ketron: Who is the mysterious pair tied to the 1985 cold case of a man in Palm Beach County?

After 39 years, a murder investigation has begun, and the sheriff’s office is seeking assistance in identifying two people who may have information about the death of a man whose remains were discovered in Palm Beach County.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) reported that Terry Ketron’s remains were discovered nearly four decades ago, on January 12, 1985. His remains were discovered by children playing in the woods south of Forest Hill Boulevard, west of Jog Road, and east of Pinehurst Road.

The remains had been identified as Terry Ketron

The sheriff’s office announced on December 27, 2023, that the remains had been identified as Ketron thanks to advances in Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG). In the early 1980s, he traveled from Kentucky to South Florida with a woman named Connie or Bonnie with an unknown last name.

According to the PBSO, Ketron called his family and told them he was having problems with his girlfriend and her family members. Ketron’s family hadn’t heard from him since that phone call, and his whereabouts remained unknown for decades.

The sheriff’s office provided an update on Tuesday, stating that detectives are looking for the man and woman photographed with Ketron on a pier. According to the PBSO, their identities and the location of the photo are unknown, but the two may have information about his disappearance or death.
