The Pentagon announced on Thursday (August 31) the launch of a website that would disclose declassified information on Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), also known as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) by the government. A statement from the US Department of Defense (DoD) said, “This website will provide information, including photos and videos, on resolved UAP cases as they are declassified and approved for public release.”
According to the statement, other content on the website includes reporting trends, a frequently asked questions (FAQs) section, and links to official reports, transcripts, press releases, and other resources that the public may find valuable. The All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) would develop a secure reporting facility on its website, allowing current and former American government employees, service personnel, or contractors with direct knowledge of government programs or activities to contact AARO directly to report an anomaly.

The AARO’s website includes information about UAP reporting patterns, official UAP videos, FAQs, an overview of the AARO mission, and new releases. “We look forward to using this site to regularly update the public about AARO’s work and findings, and to provide a mechanism for UAP reporting,” AARO Director Dr. Seab Kripland said.
Dr. Kripland went on to say that since the office’s inception in July of last year, it has taken significant steps to improve data collection, standardize reporting standards, and mitigate the potential hazards to safety and security posed by UAPs.
What exactly are UAPs?
UAPs are defined by the government as 1) Airborne objects that are not immediately identifiable; 2) Trans-medium items or devices that are not immediately identifiable; and 3) Submerged objects or devices that are not immediately identifiable and exhibit behavior or performance characteristics.
UAPs are defined by the Department of Defense as sources of anomalous detections in one or more domains that are not yet attributed to known actors and exhibit behaviors that are not easily comprehended by sensors or observers.
