Elon Musk reacts to second assassination attempt on Donald Trump
Tech billionaire Elon Musk made a controversial statement regarding the second assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, raising questions about why similar attempts have not been made on current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Musk’s comment came in response to a question from an X user who asked, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?” Elon Musk replied, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”
Details of the second assassination attempt on Trump
Former President Trump faced the second assassination attempt on Sunday when gunshots were fired outside a Florida golf course where he was playing. The suspect left behind an AK-47-style assault rifle and other items before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The individual was later arrested by US investigative agencies.
This latest incident follows another attempt on Trump’s life two months ago at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where the former president sustained a minor injury to his right ear from a gunshot.
Trump’s campaign and response
After the Florida incident, Trump Campaign Communications director Steven Cheung assured the public, stating, “President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time.” In a message to his supporters, Trump confirmed his safety, saying, “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!”
