The severely injured child was rushed to the hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. Following an intensive investigation by the police, child protective services, and the Monroe County district attorney’s office, Hawkins and Weaver were arrested on Wednesday. They were arraigned the next day and officially charged with manslaughter. Both parents are scheduled to reappear in court on August 27.
