In a harrowing incident, a three-month-old baby boy was tragically mauled to death by two dogs in Rochester, New York. The infant’s parents, both 19 years old, have been charged with manslaughter following the horrific event.
Parents face manslaughter charges
The parents, Sulamain Hawkins and Anastasia Weaver, allegedly left their baby boy alone in the attic with the family’s two dogs while they went downstairs to smoke marijuana. According to the police report, the couple returned upstairs to find their baby had been viciously attacked by the dogs.
Emergency response and arrests
The severely injured child was rushed to the hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. Following an intensive investigation by the police, child protective services, and the Monroe County district attorney’s office, Hawkins and Weaver were arrested on Wednesday. They were arraigned the next day and officially charged with manslaughter. Both parents are scheduled to reappear in court on August 27.
