Dubbed “Crooked and Obscene,” the statue was strategically placed on a plot of land off a Nevada highway, about 28 miles from the Trump International Hotel. Its location was near the highway connecting Las Vegas to Salt Lake City, strategically positioned away from main traffic routes due to its explicit nature.
Unveiling the enigma
Constructed from foam over rebar and weighing approximately 6,000 pounds, the statue was designed as a marionette with movable arms. The identity of the creators remains unknown, with the only clue being that the landowner is a trust registered in Las Vegas. A spokesperson for the anonymous artist revealed that the installation aimed to “ignite conversations.”
The artwork was scheduled for removal by Monday night, with plans to relocate it to “key swing states,” according to the spokesperson.
