Watch: Idaho man throws chopsticks to burst balloons, sets his 180th world record

In an astonishing display of precision and speed, Idaho resident David Rush has once again secured his place in the Guinness World Records. Rush burst 55 balloons using chopsticks in just one minute, marking his 180th concurrently-held title.

The journey of a serial record-breaker

David Rush, renowned for his relentless pursuit of world records, previously held the title for the most balloons burst with chopsticks in one minute, having popped 24 balloons with his hand-thrown projectiles. However, his record was surpassed when another challenger managed to pop 28 balloons. Not one to back down, Rush regained the record by bursting 41 balloons, only to lose it once more to a competitor who achieved a count of 47. Determined to reclaim his title, Rush dedicated two months to meticulous preparation, throwing a staggering 10,000 chopsticks into cardboard boxes to perfect his speed and aim.

“Preparation is key in record-breaking,” Rush commented. “I spent two months honing my technique to ensure I could beat the standing record.” His hard work paid off when he successfully popped 55 balloons within the 60-second timeframe, securing the record once again.

Tying with the world’s top record-breaker

This latest achievement puts Rush in a tie with Italian record-holder Silvio Sabba, each boasting 180 concurrently-held Guinness World Records titles. David Rush’s dedication to breaking records not only showcases his remarkable skills but also serves as an inspiration to many aspiring record-breakers around the world. His latest triumph is a testament to the power of perseverance and meticulous preparation.

Rush is also the world’s fastest juggler, and the world’s slowest juggler, and has the record for most bowling balls juggled, most consecutive ax juggling catches, and longest duration balancing a bicycle on the chin.
