Frontier Airlines pilot arrested at Houston airport, leading to flight cancellation

Unexpected arrest grounds flight

A Frontier Airlines flight from Houston to Dallas was abruptly canceled last week when pilot Seymour Walker was arrested. Houston police apprehended Walker, 45, at Bush Intercontinental Airport on an assault-family violence warrant issued by Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Department of Public Safety.

Arrest details

Houston police confirmed Walker was taken into custody without incident around 4 p.m. on Thursday, just before passengers began boarding. It remains unclear if Walker is still in custody, as requests for comment from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Department of Public Safety were not immediately answered. Walker could not be reached for comment.

Frontier Airlines confirmed the arrest, emphasizing that it was unrelated to Walker’s job performance. The flight was canceled due to the unavailability of a replacement pilot.

Compensation for passengers

“Impacted customers were offered a full refund, credit, or re-accommodation on the next available Frontier flight later that evening,” the airline stated. “Passengers were also provided a $100 flight voucher and overnight hotel accommodations as needed.”

Frontier Airlines expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the passengers, ensuring all efforts were made to accommodate them promptly.
