Elon Musk plans to commit $45 million monthly to pro-Trump PAC

Major Financial Backing for Trump Campaign

According to a Wall Street Journal report, billionaire Elon Musk plans to contribute around $45 million monthly to a new pro-Trump super political-action committee (PAC). The America PAC, which supports former President Donald Trump’s presidential bid, is expected to start receiving donations from Musk in July. However, he was not listed on the group’s recent filing, showing over $8 million raised.

Significant donors join the cause

Among the notable donors to America PAC are Lonsdale Enterprises, contributing $1 million, and Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, each donating $250,000. Neither Musk nor Lonsdale responded to media requests for comments.

Musk’s public endorsement and political shift

On Saturday, Musk publicly endorsed Trump for the first time in the presidential race, just hours after Trump was shot in the ear during a campaign rally. This endorsement highlights Musk’s shift towards right-wing politics and provides Trump with a high-profile supporter as he aims to return to the White House in the upcoming November 5 election.
