In a bizarre robbery in downtown Cincinnati, thieves targeted the Sole Bros 513 sneaker store but left with only the right-footed shoes. The incident took place around 2 a.m. on October 8, with around 100 single shoes, as well as some clothing items, stolen during the break-in.
Owner’s plea for help
The store’s owner, Hunter Emigh, shared security footage of the robbery on social media, appealing to the public for help in identifying the culprits. In his Facebook post, Emigh humorously referenced the strange theft: “I know someone’s boy has a limp now after jumping out the window… I know someone knows the drunk dude who took over 100 right shoes.”
The video footage showed the thieves in action, and Emigh encouraged anyone with information to reach out, offering a reward for leads that would help recover the stolen goods.
A serious hit to the business
Speaking with local news outlet WCPO, Emigh revealed the break-in was a significant blow to his inventory, putting the future of his business in jeopardy. This isn’t the first challenge the store has faced. He had recently relocated after a car crashed into the previous location.
Although Emigh was notified of the break-in by his alarm company during the robbery, the thieves had fled by the time he arrived.
Police investigation underway
The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating the incident and has asked the public to come forward with any information that could help in identifying the culprits involved in the unusual theft. The shop remains open, and Emigh hopes to keep serving his community despite the setback.
