Historic first: Donald Trump surrenders, mug shot taken after arrest

Donald Trump arrested, police realse his mugshot

On Thursday evening, a historic Donald Trump criminal mug shot was issued after he was arrested at an Atlanta jail on allegations of conspiring to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. The 77-year-old Trump, like the other defendants in the case who have surrendered so far, had his mugshot taken during the booking procedure, a first for any serving or previous US president.

Former President Donald Trump was arrested Thursday night in Fulton County on state charges of conspiring to change the results of Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.

Authorities verified that Trump had his fingerprints taken and that a booking photo, often known as a mugshot, was taken of him and later released to the public. Trump is facing criminal accusations in four different incidents, but this is the first time he has had a mugshot taken.

In Georgia, Trump is charged with 13 different counts, including racketeering and various counts of fraud and false statements. Trump and his 18 co-defendants in the case have until Friday to show themselves.

Trump began using his mugshot to raise funds for his campaign shortly after being booked

Soon after being arrested and returning to New Jersey, Trump began utilizing his mugshot to raise money for his campaign.

“The American people know what’s going on,” the message said. “What has taken place is a travesty of justice and election interference. (https://rentalsfloridakeys.com/) ”

Trump’s official Truth Social account shared a photo of the former president’s mugshot, which was then pinned to the top of his social media page.

“MUG SHOT — AUGUST 24, 2023,” read a caption in a simple serif font above the photo.

Typed below the mugshot were two more thoughts.

The first: “ELECTION INTERFERENCE.”

The second: “NEVER SURRENDER!”
