On Thursday, November 2, 2023, law enforcement agents seized millions of dollars worth of Psilocybin-containing components from a Connecticut residence after receiving a tip about an alleged magic mushroom factory. Local law enforcement agents discussed the search and stated that they had gotten a tip indicating that a man was operating an illegal Psilocybin-growing activity.
They then dispatched detectives to a home on Lyon Road in Burlington. When the agents arrived, the suspect led them to a detached garage where he was cultivating mushrooms. Westen Soule was identified as the man in charge of the purported Psilocybin factory. He is 21 years old and believes that the mushrooms he was cultivating were lawful.
Furthermore, he turned away the detectives that day. However, cops later came with a search warrant. They discovered Psilocybin components at various phases of development. The investigators believed that their street value was $8.5 million.
