California: Woman tragically killed in vicious attack by 'pack of 25 Great Danes'

California woman killed by a pack of Great Danes on a popular trail

In a devastating incident in California, a 56-year-old woman, Davina Corbin, was fatally attacked by a pack of 25 Great Danes while walking along the Blackhawk Trail in Feather Falls. Corbin’s body was discovered by authorities around 2 a.m. last week, bearing multiple bite marks and injuries.

Cause of death confirmed as dog attack

A forensic analysis confirmed that the cause of Corbin’s death was a domestic dog attack, with her clothing covered in DNA consistent with that of domestic dogs.

This tragic event coincides with other recent dog-related incidents, including a woman who was attacked by her dog after giving it a THC-laced gummy bear and Secret Service agents being bitten by dogs at the White House.

Neighbors reported that Corbin, a local resident without a car, was frequently seen walking on the trail near Craig Access. Following the attack, Butte County deputies searched a nearby property and found approximately 25 Great Danes roaming freely. Authorities spent the entire day capturing the dogs, successfully handing over 23 of them to Animal Control, with efforts ongoing to capture the remaining two.

Previous encounters with the aggressive pack

A neighbor, Max Hecker, recounted his close encounters with the same pack of dogs, describing how he narrowly escaped being attacked multiple times. “The Great Danes, they come across the road here at me. I jumped in the car and left,” Hecker explained, adding that the road was often covered with the dogs’ tracks.

There is still no explanation as to why a pack of 25 Great Danes was roaming in a forested area in California. Despite several complaints about the aggressive packs, this incident marks the first time authorities took significant action. “What I’m saying is animal control is just as much at fault about that death as the dogs. They didn’t do anything about any of this. This is what I’m mad about; that lady should have never died,” Hecker told KCRA.

Understanding the breed

Great Danes, a German breed known for their large size, are typically referred to as “gentle giants” due to their calm and friendly nature towards humans. However, this tragic incident has raised concerns about the dangers posed by such large dogs when they are not properly managed.
