A speedcuber from the United States named Max Park broke the record for the quickest time to solve a 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube by living by the slogan “Don’t think, just solve.” The 21-year-old accomplished this amazing accomplishment on June 11 at the Pride in Long Beach 2023 event in California by completing the cube in a mind-boggling 3.13 seconds. This accomplishment beats the previous record of 3.47 seconds achieved by Yusheng Du from China in 2018.

Guinness World Records (GWR) posted a video of the world record on its social media accounts. The YouTube video has a title that reads, “Fastest 3x3x3 Cube Solve EVER! – Guinness World Records.” The film has an unusual text overlay that states, “Max Park is about to do what many thought was impossible.” In the video, Max’s fellow Rubik’s Cube fans can be seen cheering him on and having a good time after he beat the previous record by 0.34 seconds.

The video has had over 31,000 views since it was shared a few hours ago, and the figure is still growing.

It also received a large number of likes and comments. “Huge congrats to Max for breaking such a long-standing record!” posted a Youtube user. Another added, “I think we all knew he could do it! It was just a matter of time!” A third shared, “Max Park is the greatest cuber of all time.” “MAX is an absolute beast!” added a fourth.

Max Park previously held the record

Max Park has a long history of holding various speedcubing records he is the owner of almost all of them. According to Guinness World Records, he now owns the single-solve and average-solve world records for the 4x4x4 cube, 5x5x5 cube, 6x6x6 cube, and 7x7x7 cube.

Max Park, an autistic speedcuber, uses cubing as therapy

Max, who has autism, is an inspiration to everyone. Cubing has been an ‘excellent therapy’ for Park, according to his parents. “There was a time when Max couldn’t even open water bottles, but he showed an interest in solving Rubik’s Cubes,” they explained. It’s also the subject of a Netflix documentary. Beyond the records, Max’s incredible journey in the realm of speedcubing has garnered notice. He appeared in the Netflix documentary The Speed Cubers. The documentary follows the Rubik’s Cube champions Max Park and Feliks Zemdegs on their journeys.
