Thai Navy officer accused of forcing new recruits to drink semen arrested

Navy Officer

A Thai navy officer has been arrested after video evidence of him reportedly forcing trainees to consume human sperm went viral online. It appears to show a Navy instructor disciplining conscripts by making them swallow sperm mixed with fish sauce. The video was made at a naval training camp in Chon Buri’s Sattahip district but has only now resurfaced.

What is the reason to drink semen?

Drinking sperm has, however, sparked heated controversy over the years. It contains a wide range of compounds. Sugar, salt, citrate, zinc, chloride, calcium, lactic acid, magnesium, potassium, and urea, as well as sperm protein, and water, are all found in sperm.

According to reports, sperm includes calories and has a scent similar to bleach or household cleaning, however, this varies from person to person. It also has antidepressant qualities and can be useful in the treatment of liver disease. While some people are allergic to semen, reports say that it is safe to consume. However, genuine nutritional health advantages are still under research.

What comes next for the Navy Officer?

Taksin Ngokpilai, the alleged culprit, will be in custody for 30 days. His suspension from the Royal Thai Marine Corps will take place soon. Meanwhile, two of the superiors will face suspension for 7 and 15 days, respectively. Thailand’s military conscription is compulsory, with Thai men aged 21 and up drawing a ‘red’ or a ‘black’ card, indicating two years of duty or an exemption, in a yearly lottery system. Eligible draftees can also volunteer to serve, which will minimize their time in the military.
