According to a report, a school in the Texas appears to have instructed its teachers to hide students’ transgender or non-binary identity from parents.
Walsh Middle School is a part of the Round Rock Independent School District. Teachers of the school received instructions on how to deal with such pupils.
They got instructions from the school to hide students’ identities. They had to not “contact their parents and out them to their families” by the school. The school is located in a suburb of Austin, Texas.
According to The Daily Caller, the school district has stated it has not approved this training material for this institution’s teachers. Also, it cannot avail in the area.
The district was also “reviewing this incident and ensuring protocols are in place that such presentations are reviewed and approved in advance.”
Teachers not only got instructions from the school to hide the students’ identity but also acquired instructions on how to communicate with transgender and non-binary students in the materials. It also covered how to self-correct after misgendering someone.
Not only that, but it also instructed them to correct any kids who misgender a transgender or non-binary person. They also had to avoid the gendered language in general.
Several parents have filed lawsuits against school officials after learning of the incident. While we live in the 21st century, some things still need to acquire acceptance.
