Greg Swindell’s Daughter, Brenna, Disappears with Ex-Boyfriend Accused of Assault
Former Major League Baseball pitcher Greg Swindell has publicly pleaded for assistance in locating his missing daughter, Brenna Swindell, who vanished five days ago along with her ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry. Guidry is accused of strangling and assaulting Brenna last month.
Timeline of disappearance
Brenna Swindell, aged 29, was last seen around 10:20 PM on Thursday, August 22, at Poodies Hilltop Bar in Spicewood, Texas, accompanied by her ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry. According to a press release from the Austin Police Department, neither Brenna nor Guidry has been seen since. Both of their cellphones have been switched off since the following day, Friday.
An arrest warrant for Guidry was issued on the same day they disappeared. The affidavit, reviewed by the Austin American-Statesman, alleges that Guidry strangled Brenna multiple times and slammed her head onto the floor at an apartment complex on July 7.
Previous incidents and fears
Brenna, who is a mother of three, had previously expressed her fears to Travis County sheriff’s deputies. She reported that she feared for her life while still in a relationship with Guidry, according to the Missing Persons Center.
Father’s public appeal
Greg Swindell, whose MLB career spanned 17 years, took to Facebook on Sunday to spread the word about his daughter’s disappearance. He expressed his deep concern, stating that Brenna had not been in contact with family or friends since Thursday. He fears she might not have left willingly with her “violent” ex-boyfriend.
“I still feel she would never abandon her 3 children or just take off without explanation. So until we can prove otherwise, we feel she is in danger,” Greg Swindell wrote. Addressing his daughter directly, he added, “Brennie, if you see this, we all love you so much and need you home!”
His heartfelt plea continued, “PLEASE if you have seen or heard from either one of them, let us know. THANK YOU and please share.”
Current investigations and public help
Greg revealed that Brenna had moved into a new apartment just two days before she was last seen. Authorities are concerned for her “safety and immediate welfare.”
Police believe Brenna may be traveling in a white Kia Carnival, last traced to Colorado on Friday evening. Although the car has not been spotted since, possible sightings of Brenna have been reported in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Brenna Swindell is described by Austin police as a 5’4” white female with brown hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos on both arms. Anyone who sees her or has information about her whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately or the tip line at (512) 854-1444.
The case has attracted significant public attention, with many rallying to support the Swindell family in their desperate search for Brenna.
