A music teacher at Gray Elementary in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD) in Texas is under investigation for allegedly filming sexually explicit videos in her classroom and a school bathroom. The teacher, who resigned in February for undisclosed reasons, has not been charged with a crime. The investigation was launched after community activists highlighted the issue at a press conference.
School district was unaware until videos surfaced
The school district was unaware of the videos until censored clips surfaced online on Wednesday. According to the New York Post, one video shows the teacher flashing her breasts and buttocks in the classroom, while another allegedly depicts her stripping in a school bathroom.
Teacher’s explanation and legal action
In an interview with local media, the teacher admitted to poor judgment, stating that the videos were filmed on a Sunday when she stopped by the school or in a bathroom when no one was on campus. She claimed she shared the clips only with her former boyfriend, from whom she recently had a contentious breakup. The teacher has filed a police report, suspecting revenge porn.
Community activists condemned the teacher’s actions at a press conference, vividly describing the explicit content of the videos. One activist asserted that the teacher should never be allowed around children again. LCISD confirmed that it was the teacher’s first year with the district and that an investigation is ongoing.
