Disturbing Incident Leaves Landlady Fearing for Safety
In a harrowing incident in Queens, New York, a landlady has claimed that she was strangled by one of her tenants in the dead of night. The violent encounter took place on July 21 and lasted over ten minutes, according to the victim, Josephine Ingoglia.
A night of terror
Ingoglia recounted the terrifying ordeal, accusing her tenant, Marc Lynch, of turning up at her door around 2 a.m. that morning. As she opened the door, she was met with a bizarre and alarming sight: Lynch stood there with a picture frame around his neck, blood dripping from his head. It appeared he had smashed the frame over his head, leaving the remnants dangling.
“He was saying that I was a witch”
In an exclusive interview with the New York Post, Ingoglia described the surreal scene: “He was saying that I was a witch and I knew what I did. He had a gallon of water in his hand with rose petals and he poured it over my head. In his mind, I guess he was going to get the devil out of me.”
Arrest and release
Following the incident, Ingoglia called the police, who promptly arrested Lynch. However, he was released just days later. According to Ingoglia, the Assistant District Attorney informed her that Lynch would be free until his next court date on September 24.
A spokesperson for the DA’s office stated: “Judge Jeffrey Gershuny ordered the highest level of supervised release for the defendant.” Despite this assurance, Ingoglia remains on edge. “I have tenants that I need to protect also,” she said, “I need to know where is he going to be.”
This unsettling event has left the Queens community deeply concerned about safety and the effectiveness of supervised release programs. As the court date approaches, residents and tenants alike are anxiously awaiting further developments.
