All about New York state’s new gun control law:
On Wednesday, the US Supreme Court gave the state of New York the green signal for enforcing the Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA). The legislature is passed following the apex court’s landmark delivery expanding gun rights in 2022. Additionally, the court rejected a petition by Gun Owners of America wanting to overturn the previous decision approving the enforcement of the new gun control law.

Kathy Hochul signed the CCIA one week after this decision. The modified legislation is changing the requirements for obtaining concealed and carry permits. Additionally, it prohibits firearms possession in areas that are deemed restrictive or sensitive. This includes places such as schools and hospitals.
