Russia's Wagner Group sends bloodied sledgehammer to European Union: Report

According to a claim, mercenaries from Russia’s Wagner Group sent a “bloodied” sledgehammer in a violin case to the European Parliament. The European Parliament’s members began the process of designating the Wagner Group as terrorists, according to a story in the UK’s Telegraph.

As the lid of the violin case is lifted, the attorney displays a highly polished sledgehammer with an engraving of Wagner’s insignia on the head and blood-red paint on the handle.

Putin’s chef and financier Yevgeny Prigozhin, who founded the Wagner Group, stated that he was sending the sledgehammer to the European Parliament for “information.” Yevgeny Prigozhin, who owns a catering business, was seen serving Kremlin visitors.

This week, the European Parliament designated Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism for invading Ukraine. The sledgehammer had not yet been delivered to the European Parliament, according to the article, and they believed it might be a publicity hoax.

Wagner Group has a reputation for doing unsightly things, like posting videos of its fighters holding musical instruments while posing in bombed-out towns in east Ukraine’s Donbas. In the Russia-Ukraine War, sledgehammers have come to be seen as an unofficial symbol of the Kremlin-affiliated gang.
