Up to 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers may have been killed since the commencement of Moscow’s special military operation, according to Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior military advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The number of slain civilians could be “substantial,” he continued. It is uncommon for Ukraine to provide casualty information. According to the BBC, the figures provided by Podolyak have not been verified. He asserted in June that every day, between 100 and 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed.
In a similar vein, Ursula Von der Leyen, the head of the EU Commission, asserted the cost during a video presentation on Wednesday (Nov 30). She stated that 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died. EU later stated that the figures included both those who were murdered and those who were injured.
President Zelensky’s address to the nation
Mr. Zelensky stated in his nightly speech that Ukraine will move to impose restrictions on religious organizations in the nation that have ties to Russia. He asserted that Kyiv is now openly discussing the number of fatalities in an interview with Ukrainian television station Channel 24. We have official evaluations from the General Staff and the commander-in-chief (Mr. Zelensky), and they range from 10,000 to 12,500-13,000 killed, according to Podolyak.
“The National Security and Defence Council has instructed the government to propose to (parliament) a bill on proscribing activities in Ukraine by religious organizations affiliated with centers of influence in Russia,” he said.
In a video that was published last night, Mr. Zelensky noted that the first of December marked the anniversary of a referendum that took place 31 years ago when Ukraine (at the time still a member of the Soviet Union) overwhelmingly chose to become independent.
“Our desire to live freely … will not be broken. Ukrainians will never again be a tiny stone in some empire,” Mr. Zelensky said
20000 Ukraine citizens and 100,000 Russian military men have been killed or injured since February
Last month, senior US general Mark Milley claimed that more than 100,000 Russian military men had died or been injured in Ukraine and that equal deaths were probably being suffered by Kyiv’s forces. These data from the US government are the most accurate to date, albeit they could not be independently verified.
According to Leyen, since the start of Moscow’s covert military campaign on February 24, 20,000 civilians from Ukraine have died. The Russian invasion has been going on for nine months, and world leaders are still trying to figure out how to put a stop to it.
