Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton’s three children often surprise Royal fans with their rare appearances at key events. Recently, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were seen with their parents at Trooping the Colour, where they greeted supporters from the balcony alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Royal family nicknames: From Gary to Haz
In a candid interview with James Corden, Meghan Markle revealed that she calls Prince Harry “Haz.” Interestingly, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s immediate family used to call her “Lilibet,” while Prince William had a special nickname for his grandmother: “Gary,” according to The Mirror.
William and Kate’s children have followed this tradition of unique nicknames. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis reportedly know their grandmother as “Granny Diana” and call King Charles “Grandpa Wales.”
Unique nicknames for Queen Elizabeth and Camilla
Queen Camilla also has a nickname. She has five grandchildren of her own, in addition to Prince William and Prince Harry’s children. Camilla once told Lady Gaga that her stepchildren refer to her as “GaGa,” reported The Sun. After Prince George was born, she told the Daily Mail, “My own grandchildren call me GaGa. I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but still very sweet.”
Prince George had a special name for Queen Elizabeth, calling his great-grandmother “Gan-Gan.” In 2016, Kate Middleton shared that George started calling her “Gan-Gan” when he was only two-and-a-half years old. Speaking about the birth of Princess Charlotte, Kate said she felt “very special” to have a little girl, adding, “I feel very, very lucky that George has got a little sister.”
