RJD chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been suffering from kidney problems and other diseases for at least several years. According to media sources, Rohini Aacharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, who lives in Singapore, has opted to donate one of her kidneys to her father in order to save his life.
After physicians in Singapore urged the RJD chairman to get a kidney transplant during his visit there in October, Rohini reportedly offered to donate one of her kidneys to her father.
It is understood that Lalu Prasad Yadav first opposed Rohini’s decision to donate her kidney in order to save his life, but he eventually caved under pressure from her and the success record of organ donation from family members.
Lalu is expected to return to Singapore between November 20 and 24, at which time he most likely will have a kidney transplant operation.
The second daughter of Lalu, Rohini, who lives in Singapore, had been deeply concerned about her father’s renal problems. It was Rohini who helped arrange for Lalu to travel to Singapore to see a group of specialists who had recommended kidney transplantation.
While Lalu has been receiving treatment for his kidney condition at Delhi AIIMS for the past few years, physicians there did not recommend a kidney transplant for him; nevertheless, during his visit to Singapore, doctors there did recommend a kidney transplant.
Despite being situated in Singapore, Rohini closely monitors political events in Bihar and is quite active on social media, where she criticizes the opposition and expresses her political opinions.
