According to the BBC, Buckingham Palace has unveiled a new monogram for Queen Consort Camilla.
The new cypher, created by Prof. Ewan Clayton of the University of Sunderland, combines a crown with the initials of the Queen Consort (“C” and “R” for Camill and Regina, Latin for Queen, respectively). Cyphers are historical monograms that stand in for the reigning monarch or the consort of a given nation. The cypher is seen in the picture above. (www.stocktargetadvisor.com)
The cypher was released via a post from The Royal Family’s official Twitter account. “The Queen Consort’s new cypher is made up of Her Majesty’s monogram (‘C’ for Camilla, and ‘R’ for Regina, Latin for Queen) and a crown. The cypher will be used on official correspondence.” the caption read.
King Charles III’s cypher was unveiled by Buckingham Palace in September
As stated in the tweet, the cypher will now be used to decorate individual letterheads, cards, and presents. King Charles III’s cypher was unveiled by Buckingham Palace in September. It carries Charles’ necessities (CR) and is crowned on top. His cypher will be visible on anything that uses heraldic insignia, including money, coins, government structures, passports, and official papers.
