Prince Harry will visit London for the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary, but he will not meet King Charles III or Prince William. Prince Harry will not meet his father, King Charles III, due to a “full schedule” during his visit to London for the Invictus Games’ 10th anniversary, but he “hopes to see him soon.”
A spokeswoman for the Duke acknowledged that Charles’ hectic schedule prevents a meeting between the two.
“It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme,” the duke’s spokesperson said.
“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
Chris Ship, a royal editor on X (previously Twitter), announced the duke’s arrival and stated that Prince Harry will be attending several Invictus-related events today.
Prince Harry and Charles last saw each other in February, when the duke flew to London after His Majesty was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer. During his visit, Harry spent less than an hour with Charles and stayed overnight in a hotel before departing from London’s Heathrow Airport.
Following his London tour, Prince Harry will go to Nigeria
However, Prince Harry did not see his older brother, Prince William, during his visit with Charles. The two brothers’ relationship has been strained, and it is unclear whether they will cross paths while the Duke is in London this week.
Before February, Prince Harry hadn’t seen his 75-year-old father since Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey in May.
This week, Prince Harry traveled to London alone, leaving behind his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
On May 8, Harry will attend a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral to commemorate the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary.
The Invictus Games, launched by Harry in 2014, are a Paralympic-style tournament for wounded military personnel. It began in London as an international counterpart of the United States Department of Defense’s Warrior Games, which Harry attended in 2013. Since its start, the Invictus Games have taken place in several cities, including Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, Düsseldorf, and The Hague.
Following his London tour, Prince Harry will go to Nigeria, where he will be accompanied by Meghan.
