According to Syria’s national news agency (SANA), 42 people were killed and more than 200 were injured in Syria’s Aleppo, Hama, and Latakia areas after an earthquake struck the country’s north and west, as well as southern Turkey.

The tremor was centered around 33 kilometers (20 miles) from Gaziantep, a significant city and provincial seat, according to the US Geological Survey.
