Peru: Cops dressed as ‘Spider-Man’, ‘Captain America’, ‘Thor’ and ‘Black Widow arrest drug dealers

Over the weekend, Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Black Widow broke down a door to arrest several wanted drug dealers in a dangerous Lima neighbourhood. According to investigators, the surprised inhabitants initially believed it was a Halloween joke.

The four “superheroes” were actually members of a specialized Peruvian police unit who were disguising themselves as concert promoters on Tuesday, according to the police.

On Saturday in Lima’s San Juan de Lurigancho district, four officers costumed as superheroes casually strolled along a street as part of an operation named “Marvel” after the comic book publisher of The Avengers.

A steel door was broken down by Spider-Man and his friends after they arrived at a particular home. This allowed 10 backup police officers to enter and arrest three men and a woman.

Police found 287 bags of cocaine and 127 bags of marijuana drug

According to police colonel David Villanueva, “In this building, an entire family was devoting themselves to the micro-commercialization of drugs, with the intention of selling the substances in a nearby park.”

Along with 287 bags of cocaine and 127 bags of marijuana drug, the police also found 3,250 little packages of basic cocaine paste, a crude extract of coca leaves.

In Peru, a kilogramme of cocaine paste costs about $380, whereas a kilogramme of cocaine hydrochloride, the purest form, costs about $1,000.
