Ohio woman swears she recorded Bigfoot, experts disagree

A woman in Ohio thinks she has audio proof about the return of Bigfoot to the wilderness near her house. However, experts think it can be something else.

Bigfoot in Ohio?

“This is the first time I ever recorded howls,” stated Suzanne Ferencak. She claims to hear the elusive creature and believes she has audio proof backing her claims. The two-minute-long recording captures the sound of an unidentified creature howling. She added that she encountered Bigfoot in the same area before. She is going to talk about her encounters with the creature during the “Bigfoot Basecapt Weekend”. It will be held in Ohio’s Pleasant Hill Lake Park between September 9 and 11.

Ferencak revealed her first encounter with the creature was in May 2013 in southeastern Loudonville, Ohio. She claims about catching a glimpse when the creature supposedly jumped over the backroad. She lives an hour away from Columbus, Ohio, a prime Bigfoot habitat according to her. Her research also turned into a 2017 movie, “The Back 80”. For several years, she reported knocks and howls on her property. Additionally, there were some sightings in the woods behind her rural home. She is also a part of the Bigfoot Field Research Organisation. The group is involved in collecting reports of potential sightings.

What is the proof?

To ensure she did not miss potential encounters, she bought an audio recorder. “Then all of the activity stopped. It was like, ‘Wow, where did it go? It’s not a very expensive recorder. f I’m out, I always have a recorder going. I’ve been doing this for nine years” stated Ferencak. Currently, it contains over 20,000 hours of sound from her backyard. “In all that time, I had not recorded anything decent,” she added. However, everything changed on July 3.

On most evenings, she hangs out at a campsite close to her hounds. She was there on Saturday, right before Independence day. “Earlier that night, there had been a ton of fireworks – local people were blasting off fireworks in the valley. There were big booms. It was the third of July at 3:42 a.m. You hear some howls. Then you hear a chorus of coyotes and then you hear howls again,” she recounted.

However, wildlife experts are not very certain about the claims. According to a group of workers in the nearby Mohican State Park, the sound is possibly an alpha male coyote reaching out to its pack. Kyle Casey, a naturalist at the park disagreed with the Bigfoot theory after listening to the recording. “The closest thing that we believe it would be the call of an alpha male coyote. A coyote calling in its pack.,” stated Casey. However, she also added that it was not an exact match. Regardless, Ferencak believes the creature has returned and is planning to purchase a more expensive and powerful recorder.
