Disturbing Video Captures Shocking Incident; Police and Paramedics Rescue Injured Suspect
Surat Thani, Thailand—In a bizarre and disturbing incident, a 26-year-old Russian tourist, Evgenii Kuvshinov, was arrested after allegedly stripping naked and attempting to engage in sexual activities with a cow. The incident occurred in a field in Surat Thani, where Kuvshinov was on holiday.
Attempted assault and violent retaliation
Local authorities reported that Kuvshinov initially approached a male bull before turning his attention to a female cow tied to a wooden fence. According to witnesses, the cow reacted violently, pinning Kuvshinov to the ground and goring him.
Residents, who had already alerted the police upon noticing the naked man roaming the field, heard his cries for help during the attack and waited for authorities to arrive.
Graphic footage and immediate medical attention
Sickening footage appears to show Kuvshinov bent over, completely unclothed, as the brown cow attacked him. The video later shows him being carried away on a stretcher after police and paramedics arrived at the scene.
Kuvshinov was transported to Bannaderm Hospital, where he was treated for wounds on his bottom and abrasions all over his body.
Suspicions and statements
A paramedic from the Ban Na Doem Foundation, who treated Kuvshinov, suspected that the tourist was attempting to have sex with the cow. The paramedic stated, “We found cannabis in his car so maybe he was high. The way we found him, his actions suggest that he was trying to do something dirty with the cow, that he was trying to have sex with her.”
Police investigation and official statements
Police Lieutenant Thongchai Chaikit of Ban Na Doem Police Station confirmed they received reports of a foreign man in an “altercation” with a cow at 5:40 PM on Thursday. While authorities “can’t say for sure” if Kuvshinov was attempting to have sex with the animal, as “there was no semen on her,” the officer noted that the suspect was fortunate the rescue squad arrived when they did.
“When we arrived at the scene, the suspect was being attacked by the cow,” Chaikit said. “Witnesses said he had first gone to a male cow then over to the female and tried to climb on top of her.”
Lieutenant Chaikit added that Kuvshinov exhibited erratic behavior, speaking Russian incoherently and showing no signs of alcohol consumption. Marijuana and a torn passport were found in his car.
Current status and further investigation
Kuvshinov is currently detained at the local police station, as doctors at the hospital would not admit him due to his “crazy” behavior. The police are now awaiting the involvement of tourist police and immigration authorities to further investigate the incident.
This shocking event has raised concerns about tourist behavior and the potential impact of substance use on such incidents. Authorities are urging tourists to adhere to local laws and customs to avoid similar occurrences.
