Mysterious space object found in North Carolina mountains

A groundskeeper in the North Carolina mountains made a startling discovery along a remote trail. Justin Clontz and a co-worker were performing maintenance at the Glamping Collective, a luxury campsite in Haywood County when they encountered a massive, bizarre object covered in dense metal sheets and unearthly-looking bolts.

The mysterious object, nearly four feet tall and coated with inch-thick burnt carbon fiber, left Clontz and his colleague in shock. “It’s once in a lifetime, you know, it doesn’t happen every day,” Clontz told a local TV station.

Clontz and his coworker managed to lift the heavy object using a lawn mower and rope. Interestingly, the object appeared burnt, yet the surrounding area showed no signs of damage, raising questions about how it ended up on the trail.

Possible origins

Speculation suggests the object might be debris from SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft. Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, noted that areas from Tennessee through Virginia and West Virginia are likely impact zones for Crew Dragon debris. North Carolina is also a potential site for such debris.

Related sightings

In a related incident, an airplane passenger in March reported spotting a possible UFO above LaGuardia Airport in New York, according to the New York Post.

The discovery has sparked curiosity and raised numerous questions about its origins and how it landed in the remote North Carolina mountains.
