Natasha Emeny had briefly stepped away to put away some clothes, leaving her one-year-old son, Koah, alone in the room. Upon returning, she was stunned to find him covered in the ashes of her late father.

In a video recorded by the distraught mother, the toddler can be seen with ashes smeared all over his clothes and furniture as he unknowingly plays with the cremated remains. “Oh my God. When your son eats your dad. My son has eaten my dad’s ashes!” Emeny exclaims in the footage, showing the open urn and her child covered in gray dust.

She explained that the urn had been placed on a top shelf, supposedly out of the toddler’s reach. However, Koah had somehow managed to access it and, to her horror, decided to taste his grandfather’s remains.

A mix of horror and humor

Initially devastated by the incident, Emeny later admitted that her father would have found the humor in the bizarre situation. “He never met him, but now they are always together!” she quipped, adding that her son was unharmed and had not ingested too much of the ashes.

After sharing the video on social media, the post quickly went viral, racking up hundreds of thousands of views. Some users speculated that it was an elaborate April Fool’s prank, but Emeny assured them it was all real.

“I was taking some washing upstairs, literally, for a couple of minutes. I come back down to him covered in ashes. It took me a moment to realize it was, in fact, my dad’s ashes,” she said, describing her shock. “I was mortified. I’m still trying to process it!”

Social media reacts

The bizarre incident sparked a mix of shock and amusement among social media users. One person humorously commented, “Grandad for breakfast.” Another joked, “I don’t think this is how reincarnation is supposed to work.” A third quipped, “Well, now you can also say to him when he’s older, ‘I can see a lot of your grandfather in you!’”
