Sun Hongxia from Anhui Province, China, diligently cared for her husband after he went into a coma following a heart attack in 2014. According to Dawan News, it was Sun’s decade-long nurturing that contributed significantly to her husband’s recovery. Footage showed Sun next to her now-conscious husband in bed, tearfully recounting the events of the past years. “Although I’m very tired, I feel all is worthwhile as the family is reunited,” Sun told Dawan News.

Sun described the devastating moment her husband had a heart attack that caused his long-term incapacitation. She mentioned that her resolve to not lose hope was reinforced by their two children, who inspired her to set a strong example.
“I wanted to set a good example for them,” she stated. Sun dedicated the past ten years to ensuring her husband’s comfort while he was unresponsive, dealing with the severe physical complications that arose from his extended coma, including the need for a urinary catheter and a tracheostomy.
Despite the challenges, Sun’s dedication was steadfast. “His eyes opened little by little,” she remarked. Her father-in-law, aged 84, praised her deeply for her sacrifices. “She is my daughter-in-law, but she is better than a daughter. No one can compare with her,” he expressed.
