Mexican president-elect’s motor convoy suffers accident, 1 dead

Mexican president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum‘s convoy experienced a tragic accident on Friday, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries, according to a statement from her team. The car carrying Sheinbaum was not involved in the collision.

Sheinbaum immediately stopped to assist the injured individuals, who were being treated by emergency responders following the crash in Monclova, a city in northern Coahuila state.

“We deeply regret that one person died in the other vehicle,” her team stated.
