Meatlovers’ favorite KFC menu is undergoing a major change. The chicken-heavy Kentucky Fried Chicken will soon be serving a little less meat on the bone.
Major changes and cuts in the KFC menu
KFC is dropping some of its items including the popcorn chicken combo and fried chicken wings to streamline and make room for new items.
“We’ve narrowed down options for customers, making it easier for them to decide what to order and focusing on menu items that we do best,” stated Brittany Wilson. Wilson is the US director of the company. They started rolling out new menu boards across the US in November.
As per Wilson, they are “reflecting our updated strategy”. “We’re not only simplifying the menu, but we’re also making room for some new and exciting menu additions this spring and beyond,” she added. However, the menu “will continue to evolve as restaurants’ product supply shifts and we roll out the new products,” assured the US director.
KFC menu: What items will be dropped and added?
The fast-food chain is dropping its Kentucky Fried Chicken wings and Popcorn Chicken combo. Other items the company is dropping include the Choco Chip Cookies, Strawberry Lemonade, and Nashville hot sauce. However, it will be retaining its famous bowls and they will contain popcorn chicken on them. The chain is dropping times that are not available consistently across the nation. Additionally, a unified, slightly smaller menu also ensures that drive-through customers get their food quicker.
The Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps, which debuted last week is the newest addition to KFC’s menu. The item was first tested in Atlanta in 2022. They became available at the joint’s participating locations across the US in Feb in a two-for $5 deal. The item comes with an extra crispy chicken tender, mayo, and pickles or an extra crispy tender, coleslaw, pickles, and spice sauce combination.
