Kernel helmet: The mind-reading helmet

Kernel, a California-based startup is ready to start shipping a helmet that can help you unlock your brain’s capacity. The $50,000 helmet claims to analyze neurons in the brain. Hence, it looks like this helmet can read your mind. The firm hopes to make the best of this technology by making it smaller, easy to use, and commercializing it.

Additionally, the firm plans to open new doors for research. The flow helmet’s brain interference is capable of collecting real-time data and recording it. It uses lasers to establish precise patterns of the brain’s activity. Besides, all you need to do is plug in a USB-C-type cable! Flux, another Kernel helmet is capable of measuring the speed of the neurons in real-time. Also, it provides access to the intricate activities of the brain. it includes emotions, memory, arousal, attention, and learning. The first of these devices will be going to institutions and labs working on brain research.

Kernel, the helmet of the future

The device can help researchers get a better understanding of the human brain. Additionally, it can help take research on aging, strokes, mental disorders, and psychedelics to great heights. “To make progress on all the fronts that we need to as a society, we have to bring the brain online,” said Bryan Johnson, the CEO of Kernel. The CEO has spent over five years making this a reality.

The helmet is not as accurate as other invasive methods. Hence, it can be confused by electrical interference. However, the Flow helmet is a better option to record brain activity. It is because, unlike Neuralink, you do not need to have a computer chip implanted in your brain. But, it can help people get a better insight into their mental health and wellbeing. It is also why the flow helmet is likely to be sold for cheaper.

The CEO thinks this is the first step in knowing thyself. “If you went to a cardiologist and they asked you how your heart feels, you would think they are crazy. You would ask them to measure your blood pressure and your cholesterol and all of that,” he added.
